Cutter Makhathini on the brink of SATMA award

Cutter Makhathini of Dihlabeng FM was officially announced as nominee vying for the SATMA 17 awards for Best Traditional Community DJ in a glittering event held at Durban ICC last Saturday. The 24 year old compete with other 18 DJ's across the nation to scoop the top accolades.
In the category he is the sole representative on the traditional DJ representing the Free State and he is fired up to bring the award home. His official nomination brought hope and courage to his listeners in the Dihlabeng municipality where the station is based.
It was through the votes from his listeners and community at large that secured him spot on official list of nominees. Though he works is relatively new, Cutter is poised with ability to bring award home with his hilarious persona and good taste of traditional music.
Cut his tooth as one in trio that present The Breakfast Show, he was later promoted to anchor Lunch Time Show where his love for traditional music felt across the airways of his local community radio station.
His philosophy is that culture is very important aspect of ones life hence traditional music is still relevant even today to remind people of their heritage and norms.
The young DJ said his love for his roots has earned him a SATMA nomination and winning will be a bonus. He further said that he will treasure the SATMA for the rest of his life and propel him to work harder for culture sake.
