Tsietsi Msimanga from Mamafubedu in Petrus Styn in the Free State coincidentally employed at Qwaqwa community radio station on his birthday. The young talented Dj and newsreader was born on 11 August 23 years ago and said he can do anything just to be on air. He worked at Sedibeng fm in Vandabilj Park and Karabo fm in Sasolburg before joining Lentswe la hao radio station in Qwaqwa.
He said a love of radio presenting came to him like a dream, as he never thought that one day he will be sitting and talking alone in studio behind the mic. "We used to be instructed to read novels in the classroom, and I read in a radio news reading tone," he said. He said his classmates would laugh at him but with advices that he could reach on the sky if he keeps on preparing his voice like he does.
"One day my teacher talk to me and say, the voice I have is a radio material, I couldn't believe it," said Navigator as he's known by listeners. He said all those advices happened to be the realities. "Ever since I worked on air, I have realized that listeners are the most important people in my life. Without them, I am nothing, therefore they don't need to be cheated," added Tsietsi. He's willing to fly higher in the next couple of years. "In five years down the line, I would like to see myself owning a radio station that will take care of talented young people who are struggling to get chance in the radio industry, " he said.
He also mentioned that radio industry is too short and it needs an educational background. "I completed my matric at Lebohang senior secondary school in Boipatong, Gauteng province.I am currently studying Journalism at the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism in Johannesburg, Gauteng through distance learning.
